Jessie (ムサシ, Musashi) is a member of the Team Rocket trio that frequently follow around Silus and his friends through the Hora region. She travels with her teammates James and Meowth.

On this wiki[edit | edit source]

Character[edit | edit source]

The Jessie on this wiki is the same Jessie that appears in the Pokémon Yellow. Jessie's mother, Miyamoto, was a high-ranking Team Rocket agent. As a group, they are initially seen trailing a young novice trainer, Jason Reid, but quickly lose interest in him, deciding instead to trail the young man, Silus, as well as his band of friends, throughout his travels in the Hora region.

In P1 Grand Stand-Off, Jessie reveals that the group has stuck to their old habits (which is expanded upon in the anime) of selling stadium goods whenever a local competition is in the area. And, as shown in First Pokémon Contest and a new Rival!, Jessie retains her moniker of "Jessilina" in order to compete in Pokémon Contests, with her goal being the Dahlia Grand Festival.

Personality[edit | edit source]

She has a long-standing bitter rivalry with Cassidy, another member of Team Rocket. Jessie seems to have a special preference for snake-like Pokémon, though, she has expressed a preference for Poison-type Pokémon in general. Jessie is also known to be very vain and is also prone to explosive anger. She values her appearance, and she can get furious when her face or hair is damaged. When this happens, she may do things like beat up a Pokémon, such as Meowth.

Furthermore, Jessie goes into a violent outrage whenever someone insults her beauty by calling her old. She usually will "spit fire" in extreme anger on such occurrences. She is also angered (compared to her companions, who are usually depressed when they fail at something) when missions are either failed or botched, which is a regular thing. At times, her anger is also shown to scare James and Meowth, usually when they expecting it. or if she really loses her temper.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Jessie with James and Meowth.

In Light & Dark, as well as any series sharing its continuity, Jessie appears quite differently than she does in her game and anime incarnations. While possessing the same long, tail-like, ruby-red hair, she now holds it in place with a forehead protector with the same "R" insignia as Team Rocket's own insignia.

She wears a white, sleeveless top, which opens at slightly in the center, splitting the "R" insignia in two, with black trim and a mesh undershirt: both of which leave much of her lower abdomen exposed. Additionally, she wears arm-sleeves, of a similar material to her undershirt, and mesh leggings. She seems to have both a short, white skirt, and black undershorts. She also wears black, open-toed sandals, and a single black glove on her right hand.

Like the anime, Jessie retains her trademark sapphire-colored eyes, though they are noticeably darker in Light & Dark, and her emerald, spherical earrings.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Hora marks the first time Jessie has captured one of the starter Pokémon as one of her own.
    • It is also the first time her "snake-themed" Pokémon has not had a poison type.
  • In the continuity of Light & Dark, Ash Ketchum never existed, and thus, this Jessie is the incarnation that appears in Pokémon Yellow version.
