Pokémon World Locations

Mt. Hora (岳薔薇 Mt. Bara), also called Hora Cave is the highest mountain in the Hora region. Most of it is a deep cave, though there are several above-ground areas in which it snows constantly. The cave that winds through the mountain is apparently man-made, as bridges run through it, though bridges become less and less conveniently located inside the cave the higher one ascends.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Mt. Hora is located in the near center of the Hora Region, Mimosa City being located at it's foot. Unlike the Dark Crag, the cave has only one entrance, but it extends deep into the mountain. The cave itself is difficult to traverse, requiring HMs such as strength. Like many other caves in the Hora Region, Mt. Hora is home to several "lakes" where water Pokémon can be captured. Many high-level Pokémon reside in the cave, including rare Pokémon not found elsewhere in the Hora region, like Larvitar and Nidoking. In addition, a hailstorm is present at the summit; this weather can become diamond dust on certain days. At times a trainer must also venture onto the slopes on the mountain's sides in order to climb higher. Rock Climb is sometimes needed to ascend, though this can be avoided. However, if the trainer ventures lower into the mountain, there is a thermal chamber where several Fire-type Pokémon such as Charmander can be caught. It is also one of the few places Diglett and Dugtrio can be caught outside of Kanto of Johto, the other being Route 228. The Legendary Golems reside deep inside this mountain. The legendary Pokemon Sinne and Luumin are sealed within this mountain. Near the summit is located Indigo Town, which is home to the Indigo Town Gym.
