In the games[edit | edit source]
In the core series[edit | edit source]
Pokémon Crystal[edit | edit source]
Crystal is one of Ryan's friends from New Bark Town in the Johto region. Like him, she began her Pokémon journey at the age of 10 and received Totodile as her first Pokémon.
On the second day of her adventure, Crystal hatched a Togepi from the Mystery Egg given to her by Mr. Pokémon. With Togepi and Totodile, she easily obtained her first Gym Badge during the Violet City Gym Challenge. Late that same day, she ran Team Rocket off of Slowpoke Well after arriving in Azalea Town.
On the third day of her adventure, Crystal similarly obtained her next two badges, soundly defeating Bugsy and Whitney, but not before obtaining her Heracross: the third member of her team. Later that evening, she competed in the Bug-Catching Contest in the National Park.
The fourth day of Crystal's adventure saw the Fog Badge added to her collection. However, her Croconaw was defeated by Morty's Gengar, adding to a long list of insults it had suffered since its initial loss against her Heracross. Crystal took Croconaw to train with the Kimono Girls, where it evolved into her Feraligatr.
Pokémon Sword[edit | edit source]
In spin-off games[edit | edit source]
Crystal later goes to Passio with Ryan where the two become traveling companions in the Pokémon Masters Tournament.
Character[edit | edit source]
Pokémon[edit | edit source]
Like Goh, from the Pokémon anime, Crystal enjoys capturing every new Pokémon that she encounters. She also is not above trading Pokémon to add new data to her Pokédex. Her goal is to capture every single Pokémon in the world. She also enjoys crafting teams for battle, inspired by a hero from New Bark Town, Ryan. Though she captures a large number of Pokémon, Crystal seems fond of using strong and rare Pokémon on her teams. For instance, her Johto team is composed of three Pokémon not found in the wild, one for which only a single member of its species can be found in the wild, and two who (though found in the wild) are exceeding difficult to find.
Crystal currently has ownership of 52 different species of Pokémon and 53 individuals total. She has also obtained 1 Shiny Pokémon.
